Atlean Pierre was born on March 8, 1953, and was a lifelong resident of Killona, LA. Born to the union of the late Kerry and Matlean Pierre, she departed this life on Thursday, April 6, 2023. Atlean was a wonderful and loving mother of Christopher Pierre, Alicia Pierre, and Wendell Smith, Jr.; and grandmother of 11 grandchildren. Atlean loved being around her grandchildren and family members. Atlean was baptized in July 1960 at Canaan Baptist Church in Killona, LA by the late Rev. James S. Powell, Jr. She worked for the Arc of St. Charles for 15 years until her health started to decline.

Atlean is survived by her 3 children Christopher Pierre, Alicia Pierre, and Wendell Smith, Jr.; 2 sisters Dolores Pierre of Killona, LA, and Brenda (Walter) Vine of New Orleans, LA.; 3 brothers Dennis (Toni) Pierre of Missouri City, TX, Kerry Pierre of Boutte, LA, and Wilton Curtis (Carolyn) Pierre of New Orleans, LA; 1 Godchild Aaron Joseph Jackson; 11 grandchildren which include 2 sets of twins and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Atlean is preceded in death by her parents Kerry and Matlean Pierre, 2 brothers Leonard Langs and Lionel Lockett, 1 sister Doris Ann Washington and her Godparents Joseph and Gladys Dallon.

We all loved her so dearly. She was our baby sister of nine children, but we know that God loves her more.

Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, Officers and Members of Canaan Baptist Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to a Celebration of Life at 11:00am on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Canaan Baptist Church, 319 Killona Dr. Killona, LA 70057. Rev. Henry Wolfe, Pastor/Officiant. Visitation 9:00am until time of service at the above-named church. Interment Killona Resthaven Cemetery, Killona, LA. Final Arrangements Entrusted to Patrick H.
