Arthur Rainey

March 13, 1938 - May 5, 2025

Arthur Rainey of Edgard, Louisiana transitioned to his heavenly home on Monday, May 5, 2025, at the age of 87. Arthur was the son of the late Silas and Somoria W. Rainey, of Edgard. Arthur is survived by his siblings Lance Rainey, Sr. (late Barbara) and Gloria R. Bethancourt (late Felmon) of Edgard, LA; Brenda R. (Morgan) Burke and Patricia R. Montgomery of LaPlace. LA; and devoted niece Da’Shanta Bethancourt of Edgard, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents Silas and Somoria W. Rainey; siblings: Catherine R. Johnson, Silas Rainey, Jr., Paul Rainey, Wallace Rainey, Sr., Rosalie R. Allen, Lester Rainey, Sr. and Dianne R. Vinnett. Also survived by a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends, pastors, officers and members of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Edgard, and all neighboring churches and employees of DaVita River Bend Dialysis and Acadian Ambulance Services (St. John Westside) are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 152 E. 6th St., Edgard, LA 70049, on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., Rev. K. Maurice Tillman, Pastor-Officiant.  Visitation from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at New Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery. Final Arrangements Entrusted to Patrick H.
