Antoine Lee “Twiney” “Tec” “Coach” Carter, Sr. departed this life on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at the age of 46. Beloved Husband of Hope Pierre Carter; Son of Benjamin Harrison Carter, Sr., Geraldine Matthews and James Frank Warren; Son-in-law of Gloria Pierre; Loving Father of Antoine Carter, Jr., Gailynn Carter, Kori Herbert and Glasia Walker; Brother of Benjamin Harrison Carter, III (Sharon), Jason Carter (Tremaine), James Carter (Jessica), and Swan Warren; Godson of Debra Guter and the late Gerald Matthews, Sr. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 8 godchildren, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, colleagues, and friends. Mr. Carter graduated from George Washington Carver Senior high school and obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Southern University A&M. For the past 20 years, he served as a teacher, coach, and school leader in East Baton Rouge, Feliciana, St. John, and St. James Parishes. Mr. Carter loved coaching football and mentoring young people, but his first love was family.

Relatives and friends of the family; also employees of East Baton Rouge, Feliciana, St. John, and St. James Parish Schools, St. James and West St. John Football teams, alumni of Southern University A&M, and members of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and George Washington Carver Senior High School class of 1995 are invited to the Celebration of Life on Thursday, July 13, 2023, 10:00am at West St. John High School 480 LA-3127, Edgard, LA  70049.   Visitation, 8:00am to 10:00am.  Private Interment.   Final Arrangements Entrusted to the Patrick H.
