Andrea Allen Pinkney

1960 - 2026

Andrea Daphane Allen Pinkney peacefully transitioned from her earthly life on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, age 65.  She was born on November 18, 1960, to Margaret Curtis Allen and the late McChurty Allen.  Andrea was the loving and devoted mother of Desmond Wilson and Phyllicia Marshall Rattle (Alvin) and the grandmother of Desiraye Maddison Wilson, Alivia Jaleah, Alvin, Jr. and Alijha Janye Rattle. 

Andrea attended West St. John High School and was a Class of 1979 graduate. Upon graduation she attended Meadows Draughon College where she obtained an Associate degree in Business Administration. Andrea’s career was multifaceted. She was a legal secretary for the State of Louisiana where she was employed by the Office of Family Support.  She then decided on a career change and became employed by the McDonald’s corporation as a manager.  She worked there for many years and then decided it was time for a change.  Andrea became employed by the Cracker Barrel Convenient Store Corporation where she was a store manager for many years and many locations.  This is where she found her niche in life.  She enjoyed being a manager and training the new employees.  It was in one of those very stores that she met the love of her life Clarence Pinkney, and that relationship blossomed into a marriage of many years.  Andrea was often thinking of her next move in life.  She then decided she wanted to be a Nail Technician and enrolled at Mollere Beauty College.  She excelled in her new career until she developed an allergy to the chemicals used for acrylic nails which ended her new career.  This was a disappointment, but nothing could ever stop her hustle in life. She returned to store managing until her health began to fail and she retired.

Andrea was a hardworking, dedicated and devoted Manager.  She touched many lives and made many friends along the way.  She would often baby sit for some of her employees to afford them an opportunity to work and support their families.

Andrea is preceded in death by her father, the late McChurty Allen, her maternal grandparents Aline Aubert Curtis Delancy and Alphurus Delancy and William Curtis and paternal grandparents Alma Bartholomew Allen and Freeman Allen, she was also preceded in death by several aunts, uncles and other relatives.

Andrea was a beautiful soul that leaves to mourn her mother Margaret Allen, children; Desmond and Phyllicia (Alvin Sr.), her 4 grandchildren, her siblings Tyrone Allen (Martia), Kathleen Allen (Dexter), Jennifer Allen-Sanders (Patrick) and Anne Allen; her nieces, Nicole Allen and Danielle Allen, her nephews Curtis Allen, Colby Allen, Christopher Hills and KD Hills. her aunt Ella Allen O’Neal (Henry) and former daughter-in-law Brittany Brown, devoted friends, Linda, Faye, Cathy, Mattie and Zenovia.

Relatives and friends of the family held an Intimate Celebration of Life on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the Patrick H. Sanders Funeral Home, 605 Main Street, Laplace, LA  70068. 985-359-1919.  "Providing Care & Comfort is Our Highest Mission."
