Alma Levida “Beedie” Young Gage entered eternal rest on September 12, 2023, at her home in Grand Prairie, Texas . She was born August 27, 1960 to the late Jesse and Annette Gabrial Sextion. She is the granddaughter of the late Raymond Gabriel Sr. and Alma Red Gabriel and the late Gus Sextion and Rosetta Sextion. Alma is the wife of James Gage. The mother of Attara, DayShawn, Ashonte’ and ACoya Young. She is the grandmother of JaLeela and JaLynn Dayries, Jamara, JaKiyah and Taraji Young, Tyja Poche, LaMaya Boyd, Kayla Brickley, DayShawn Young Jr. and Leon and Lion Brown. Sister of Gail (Scott) Lee, Michelle Young, Karen Young, Kim Young and the late Annette Young, Jessie (Candice) Young and Delando Gabriel Sr. She also leaves to cherish her memory her aunts Alberta G. Ruffin, Dorothy Mae Robertson, Geneva and Creole Sextion of Chicago, Il. and her uncles Raymond Gabriel Jr. (Emelda), Gus M. Sextion and William Sextion. She is godmother of Katrina Red, Michael Young, James Loftis, Montell Green and Wania Anderson. Devoted friend of Latanya Williams, Claudell Young and Joy Legania. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A lifelong resident of Algiers (Cutoff), LA.

Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, Officers and Members of Second Nazarene Baptist Church, Living Word Family Worship Center, Second Baptist Church and St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church, all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Services at 10:00am on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, 1738 L.B. Landry Ave, Algiers, LA., 70114.  Rev. Peter Crawford, Officiating and Rev. Norman Francis-Host Pastor Visitation will begin at 8:00 am. until service time at the above-named church.
