ALLEN TURNER, SR.

1935 - 2024

Allen Turner, Sr.  entered eternal rest on Monday, April 22, 2024, age 88.  He was born on November 5,1935 to the late Richard Turner, Jr. and Caroline Hadley.  Husband of the late Marian Griffin Turner.  Allen was the father of Taranja Tianda Turner, Hazel Turner Richard, and the late Allen Turner, Jr.  Brother of Lee Turner, Mildred Stokes and Geneva Dorsey and the late Ethel Borne, Louis Turner, Sr., Hazel Jackson, Leona Daniels, Bernice Champagne, Rev. Eugene Turner, Wilhelmina Simmons and Bessie T. White and  grandfather of Telitha Richard. 

Allen was a Veteran of the U.S. Airforce  and  once he successfully completed his term with an honorable discharge he returned home and was employed at the Avondale Shipyard.

He leaves to cherish his memories his daughters Taranja Turner and Hazel Richard.  His siblings Lee Turner, Mildred Stokes and Geneva Dorsey and his granddaughter Telitha Richard. He also is survived by a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Richard Turner, Jr. and Caroline Hadley, his son Allen Turner, Jr., siblings Ethel Borne, Louis Turner, Sr., Hazel Jackson, Leona Daniels, Bernice Champagne, Rev. Eugene Turner, Wilhelmina Simmons and Bessie T. White.

Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, Officers and Members of Historic Bell Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to a Celebration of Life Service at Historic Bell Baptist Church, 300 Hackberry Street, Luling, LA 70070 at 11:00am on Saturday, May 4, 2024.  Rev. Rodney L. Johnson, Sr.-Pastor and Officiant.  Visitation 9:00am until time of service at the above-named church.  Interment Bell Baptist Cemetery.   Final Arrangements Entrusted to Patrick H.
