Alfred Michael Preston, Sr.

November 25, 1981 - June 25, 2025

 On Wednesday June 25, 2025, at Chateau Terrebonne Health Care, Alfred Michael Preston Sr. became absent from his body and present with the lord.  Alfred was admired and respected by everyone who met him.  He was quiet but spoke when he was spoken to.  He was funny and can make you laugh until you cried, but you had to be special to experience that side of him.  He was also very serious and didn’t like a lot of play and foolishness.  If you ever needed him, he was there.  Alfred loved to groom himself and dress nicely until his life drastically changed.  His last active moments were spent doing what he loved the most, spending time with family, celebrating his only son’s first birthday.  Alfred was a man who rarely said many words, or showed a lot of emotions, but had a particular grin that would light up a room.  Just a gentle giant with a huge, giving heart.  He really had a soft spot for anyone in need.  Becoming a father was Alfred’s proudest moment.  If you saw him, you saw his son Alfred Jr. whether it was riding his bike or sitting in his yard.  

Sixteen years he fought a good fight!  Alfred left his earthly life knowing how loved he was by his son Alfred Michael Preston Jr, his dad Reginald Francois (Linda), his siblings Adrianne and Regina Preston, Reginald and Dwayne (Tondia) Johnson, and LaTasha Pryor.  Six nieces, Alaya and Aiyjah Thomas, Makaijah and Maleigha Bradley, Denver Evans and Jalahni Johnson.  Seven nephews, Dwaine Thomas, Makalyn Bradley, Darryl Evans Jr., Jalen, Jordan, Jrue Johnson and Tylin Pryor.  He leaves to cherish his memories his aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and the neighboring community.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Vanessa Preston, grandparents Richard Dent and Olivia Preston, George and Dorthy Francois, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, Officers and Members of Canaan Baptist Church and all neighboring Churches are invited to the Celebration of Life Services at 11:00am on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Canaan Baptist Church, 319 Killona Drive, Killona, LA 70057. Rev. Henry Wolfe, Pastor-Officiating.   Visitation 10:00am until the time of service at the above-named Church.  Interment Killona Resthaven Cemetery, Mary Plantation Rd, Hwy 3141, Killona, LA 70057.  Final Arrangements Entrusted to Patrick H.
