Alex George Scott

Alex George Scott departed his earthly life on Thursday, March 20, 2025, age 40.  He was the son of Dollinda Scott and the late Thomas Scott and the brother of Joshua Scott. 

 Alex was a resident of St. Charles Parish and attended St. Charles Parish Schools graduating from Destrehan High School. Alex also attended and graduated from ITT technical Institute achieving a degree in Criminal Justice. Alex served the community, first as an employee of Winn-Dixie, Inc. and later in his career as a St. Charles Parish police officer from where he retired in 2024.

Alex touched so many peoples lives from his volunteer work with Destrehan High School and AF Junior ROTC, his service with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office and all the friendly interactions with everyone he has ever met. His compassion and actions have rippled across the whole community and has set an example for all of us.

He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Leo Scott, grandmothers Martha Johnson and Merlin Rita Johnson. Grandfathers Leo Scott, Joseph Smith, and Lennard Johnson. Uncles Rodell Smith and David Scott.

Alex will be forever missed by: His mother Dollinda Scott, Brother Joshua B. Scott, Uncles: Michael Scott, Sheridan Smith (Gail), Lenard Johnson (Andrea), Percy Smith. Aunts: Beryl Howard (Alan), Dianna Barrett (Jarzy), Mutana Jones, Patrice Wesco (George), Stacy Smith, Priscilla Brumfield (Timmy) and Orian Homes. Also, a host of great aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, Officers and Members of Fifth African Baptist Church and all surrounding Churches, also employees of St. Charles Parish Sheriff Department and Winn Dixie, Inc. are invited to the Celebration of Life Services at 11:00am on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Fifth African Baptist Church, 174 4th Street, St. Rose, LA 70087.  Visitation 9:00am until time of Service at the above-named Church.  Interment Jefferson Memorial Gardens, 11316 River Rd, St. Rose, LA  70087.
