In Loving Memory of Adrean M’Khai Hawthorne
Sunrise-July 25, 2008 – Sunset-May 15, 2025

On May 15, 2025, God told Adrean his work here on earth was done and he dispatched his angels to come and escort him home to his heavenly father. On July 25, 2008, at Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, the world got a little brighter when Adrean made his grand entrance. Born to Adreana Janease Hawthorne, Adrean would soon begin a life full of faith, love, and laughter.

Adrean moved to Louisiana at an early age, where his mother met Kenneth Anderson (KJ) who didn’t hesitate to step into the role of a father. Together, Adreana and KJ built a loving home, marrying shortly thereafter, and raising Adrean in a world filled with faith, support, and a whole lot of love. Adrean was a scholar with swag. He loved to look good, smell good and keep a crisp haircut!! He attended Park Forest Elementary, Park Forest Middle, Baker High School, and Bellaire Magnet High School, where he consistently made the honor roll. He had a serious knack for cracking jokes, lighting up rooms, and making lifelong friends everywhere he went.

In 2018, Adrean was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, but in true Adrean fashion, he took that diagnosis and said, “Watch me.” And watch him we did—as he continued to live life to the fullest, never letting anything define or confine him. By 2021, he was rolling in style, confined to a wheelchair, but somehow still the fastest kid on the block. Popping wheelies, doing donuts, and even taking that chair off-roading (yes, off-roading!), Adrean’s spirit was simply unstoppable. Needless to say, the” Wheelchair Mechanics” were at the house regularly.

Adrean proudly wore the “Big Brother” title like a badge of honor. He loved being a big brother and make no mistake, he played ZERO games about his momma!

He was stylish. He was smooth. Adrean liked to cook, smell good, and turn heads—usually while making his favorite dish or planning his next big adventure. He checked off an entire bucket list with joy: parasailing, swamp tours, Disney World and Disneyland, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, Kalahari Resorts, a shopping spree (where he likely did not even check the price tags), and even held an alligator. His room got a total makeover fit for a king, and he traveled across the U.S. with his family, creating memories. One of his proudest accomplishments was spending two magical weeks at the Give Kids the World Village in Orlando, Florida—where he had all-night access to ice cream, video games, his favorite foods, and endless freedom to zip around the village in his scooter. There, he left a lasting legacy: a star with a personalized message on it, written by him and placed in the Star Room, shining forever for his family to visit.

But out of all the things Adrean did and achieved , on April 5, 2024, he did his “ BIG ONE”: he gave his life to Christ and accepted Him as his personal Lord and Savior. That moment marked a peace and power that no earthly challenge could ever take away.

Adrean leaves behind his devoted mother Adreana Hawthorne Anderson, his father Kenneth Anderson Jr, his siblings Xavion, Ki’Lyan, Ki’Lani, and Ki’Lanis, his grandmothers Ar’Donia Hawthorne (m) and Pastor Gwendolyn Smith,(p) his grandfather’s Robert Miller Sr(m) and Kenneth Anderson Sr.(p), aunts Tammika King- Hawkins, Gweendolyn Reed, Jacqueline Anderson, Keara Anderson and Kikelomo Conley. Uncles Terance Hawthorne, Jonathan Hawthorne. Uncle Q and Uncle Hawk. And his great grandmother, his prayer partner, his granny and phone buddy Evangelist La’Bralua L. King and a host of relatives and friends.

He was welcomed into heaven by those who went before him: Pastor Thomas A. King Sr (great grandfather-m)., Dr. Elizabeth  & Reverend Stanley Miller,(great grandparents-p) Marie Huff, (great grandmother-m),Lanis Anderson( great grandmother-p), Mary Smith( grandmother),Thomas A. King Jr.( uncle/bestfriend-m), Joseph Hawkins (uncle) and Robert Miller Jr.( uncle)

Adrean may have had a short time on this earth, but he lived big. He laughed loudly, loved deeply, and rolled boldly through every chapter. Heaven just went viral!!

Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, officers and members of Elevate Church and all neighboring Churches are invited to the Celebration of Life Services at 12:00pm on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Elevate Church, 10975 Greenwell Springs Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70814.
